Hi Cyan!
Im having same view with you :). I think multimedia is really endless. It includes letters, pictures, diagrams, voices, sounds, animations, and videos.
your cats looks so lovely. i think i have never seen a cat sleeping with its front feet together.
Anyway im also 3rd year in econ, hopefully we can see other class later too.

Assignment 3 multi media Project.

hi all, i had never tryed screencast presentaion before in my life, so i was planning to make the process of the other research project plus the final one base on the process in Health Economics 339. so i made 2 videos which shows what kind of multi media i used.

I used chat GPT, sketch note, info graphic, sample planing table, and story board. It was heavy work.

10dollar daycare program presentation.

While planning and creating my screencast, I tried to follow Mayer’s Principles. I aimed to keep the video short (less than 5 minutes) to align with Mayer’s Segmenting Principle, and ensured that the information was relevant and concise, while relating back to the course content as per Mayer’s Coherence Principle. Despite my attempts to use a friendly and enthusiastic tone in accordance with Mayer’s Personalization Principle, I struggled and made mistakes, which left me feeling upset. This experience has given me a greater appreciation for individuals who are able to create flawless video presentations, possibly due to their proficient editing skills.

i used merrill’s prinsples too. in my video bcayseMerrill’s First Principles emphasize a problem-solving approach to learning design, with the goal of addressing authentic problems that hold significance for learners.

Base on princlpes effective learning occurs when learners are actively engaged in real-world problem-solving because its about daycare system which will be kind of my future and your future, or current situation. Draw upon their existing knowledge as a foundation for new learning, are shown how to apply new knowledge, actually apply the new knowledge themselves, and integrate the new knowledge into their own world views.

Learn to Read and Write Fraction!

SECTION#3: HOW TO READ AND WRITE FRACTIONS

Instructor: HONGSIK KIM

Students: Grade 3.

Age group: 7 – 8 years old

Basic concept of fraction: A fraction is a mathematical representation of a part of a whole. It is written as a ratio of two numbers separated by a horizontal line. The number above the line is called the numerator, and the number below the line is called the denominator.

Let’s start from Writing Fraction!

As a we look at the picture, we need 3 things for fraction. numerator, horizontal line and denominator.

There are 9 animals (4 cats and 5 dogs)

what is denomiator? 9! (4 cats +5dogs)

what is numerator of cats? 4!

what is numerator of dogs? 5!

For example, the fraction cat 4/9 represents 4 parts out of a total of 9 parts. The number 4 is the numerator, and the number 9 is the denominator.

I used one of the Managing Intrinsic Load principle which is segmenting. in the first picture by segmenting fraction in to 3 details . Segmenting is a common strategy used in instructional design to break down complex information or processes into smaller, more manageable pieces. By doing this, students can more easily understand and remember the information, and also have more control over their own learning pace. It’s a great way to help learners build their knowledge and skills step by step, and gradually increase their mastery of a topic.

How to read fractions!

Slide12

point is reading numerator as a cardinal number, denomiator as a ordinal number.

Cardinal Number is a number that says how many of something there are, such as one, two, three, four, five.

An Ordinal Number is a number that tells the position of something in a list, such as first second third fourth fifth etc.

Fractions can be used to represent parts of a whole, parts of a set, or parts of a measurement. They are commonly used in everyday situations, such as in cooking, where recipes often call for a certain amount of ingredients in fractions.

Fractions can be added, subtracted, multiplied, and divided just like whole numbers, but with some additional rules. To add or subtract fractions, the denominators must be the same. To multiply fractions, you multiply the numerators and denominators together. To divide fractions, you flip the second fraction and multiply it by the first fraction. This is why there are pre-request knowlege. More information is in annie’s blog

Also I used modality principle, reason for this is that when learners receive information through multiple modalities, they are able to process the information through both their visual and auditory channels, which can help them to better encode and retain the information.

I think your H5P is too well made. I think you asked the right questions in the video. I think you asked the right questions to remember the important parts after watching the video, such as truth or lie, filling in the blanks, and choosing the right sentences. I enjoyed the cake baking video.

Our focus for the week was understanding two teaching techniques: active and passive learning. Active learning is an instructional methodology that requires students to participate in class activities such as problem-solving exercises, case studies or role plays while interacting with course material via discussions, among other approaches.

Bloom's Taxonomy pyramid showing the levels of engagement from remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, create

The classification of learning into six hierarchical levels results from Bloom’s Taxonomy. These levels span from rudimentary to sophisticated: recalling, grasping, utilizing, scrutinizing, assessing and producing. Active education happens when an individual covets knowledge acquisition and perceives it as a wellspring for creativity by showing enthusiasm toward educational topics. It extends beyond mere recall or interpretation but materializes through creation using assimilated principles acquired throughout the study.

Passive learning involves the instructor passing information to students who internalize it without actively engaging themselves. Compared with the passive process, the active method can inspire increased motivation towards studying and generate greater interest for knowledge acquisition which would stimulate curiosity and encourage more engagement from learners during classes through the proactive involvement of all participants involved in their own education process.

Incorporating a form of passive learning is necessary for teaching, but by integrating active learning into it, learners can achieve a more profound comprehension of what they learned through the passive activity.

H5P

The software called H5P, short for HTML5 Package, allows the creation and sharing of engaging content like games, presentations or quizzes. The aim of the development was to ensure that it is easy for anyone to use without encountering any problems. Additionally, this open-source platform provides customization options with features designed to enhance educational materials consisting of interactive learning experiences.

H5P offers a significant advantage as it can be customized entirely and smoothly integrated into various learning management systems (LMS) and content management systems (CMS) like Moodle, Canvas, WordPress, and Drupal. As a result of this versatility in compatibility options for educators or trainers using it allows them to create interactive material that can effortlessly be shared with those they are teaching or mentoring.

H5P’s diverse range of content types, including interactive videos, timelines, image hotspots, and drag-and-drop activities, enables users to produce captivating and diverse content that caters to various learning styles.

In general, H5P is a potent instrument that facilitates the development of interactive and captivating learning materials, thereby enriching the educational journey of students and learners.

This is my H5P about truth Avocado story.

Hi! I think very similar. I won’t use AI tools because they can help students make fake essays. I’ll probably use a simple search to check if I’m writing the right essay. ChatGPT handles language, but does not actually understand it and cannot distinguish between sources, so there may be problems with some of the content it produces. However, if used in the right way, artificial intelligence tools can also help with simple tasks related to study, occupation, or daily tasks. Various artificial intelligence programs have appeared since 2020, but won’t the future change more than we think in 10 years?

AI & story telling

AI technology has been receiving a lot of attention recently. Universities and the media are dealing with various implications for this. Recently, more and more individuals are trying to use chat GTP due to its popularity. However, caution is needed in that the information in chat GTP can be inaccurate or biased, interfering with academic integrity and leading to plagiarism.

I’m currently taking a class on econ225, and it’s writing an essay. In class, the professor said that GPT writes a fairly good level of essay writing. But he said it didn’t feel like it was written by humans at all. Also, they say the data source provided by GPT is completely wrong. Since the source is written as GPT, the article is completed, which can be false information that is your data,
and the source is yourself.

In Week 8, we were able to explore a variety of AI tools. It was interesting to create images or music using generative artificial intelligence. In particular, it was an interesting experience to create various art media using DALL-E2. However, when i was using other tools, I found that these systems were not perfect. Some errors are still found. I asked for a picture of a cute giraffe, but some of the pictures didn’t express it correctly. Photos show the face not accurately represented or the legs are synthesized to resemble human legs.

Storytelling

Since storytelling is a related part of education, it was interesting to analyze storytelling and promising techniques for creating meaningful stories. Storytelling has a particular influence when teaching a class or being interested in a topic. Moreover, when a story is based on personal experience, its influence tends to increase.
I was interested in learning about various storytelling techniques. I like to talk and talk, so I often speak in my daily life. It’s something that I do naturally that connects to my personal story.

To put the two modules of the week into practice, I decided to use DAL-E2 to create a storyboard that makes simple Avocado sandwich which i love so much!

It was interesting to create a video storyboard because it highlights various factors to consider when making a video.
We understood that the camera’s movements, narration, and closed captions, as well as the movements presented in the video, play a big role in the video.

I took my exploration of DALL-E a step further by utilizing it to produce pictures for a storyboard. In this project, I employed AI tools to devise a script and select an appropriate image that matched the script and filming instructions. The storyboard was developed for an educational video on how to prepare an avocado sandwich for breakfast, and as an avocado lover myself, I thoroughly enjoyed the process.

I try to use the image from DALL-E, and it took few more process to get right image what i wanted which tells that AI program needs to develop more for the accuracy!

Hi, I think your canva is so pretty. It was good that the colors of the food ingredients that are good for the brain were all different, and the background was ivory and green.I think it’s so pretty. The color of the handwriting was gray, not black, so it was impressive too.

I think it’s really important to eat healthy food. Since I’m busy, I often eat sandwiches at school or work and finish a meal, but I think it would be good to eat these separately.

Week 5&6 Infographics

I learned how to make power points and infographic well. I never learned how to make a power point when I was young. So it was hard to make a high quality powerpoint. This is because many principles have not been adhered to.
I learned how to make infographics in Kanba. Infographic is a powerful tool for organizing, presenting, and telling stories. We can always see all kinds of infographic in our daily lives, which can increase people’s interest in reading and watching.
I think it is very important in learning that learning content can attract people’s attention. This is because it can increase the efficiency of learning and visual assistance is very helpful. I think it is very applicable to life as well as study. The infographic provides a set of important information and combines some color matches with photos for better results.

I used Canva to make an infographic about how to be healthier by choosing food, which includes a total of 4 things to consider. I have summarized four steps because it contains enough knowledge points for readers to understand the choice, and i only put four essential things to let readers not be bored. I chose green as the theme color by giving some points, such as the title and numbers. Moreover, I put plain ivory color to be simple. At the same time, I have provided a relevant, simple picture for each topic, which allows readers to get a general understanding before reading the content carefully. The text content is mainly key words.

Design principles within infographic

Alignment ensures the design arrangement is captivating, organized, and connected (Adobe, 2020).

I constructed a pattern by moving the image back and forth to the right left. The title was emphasized in a larger size and the font size of the rest of the subject was adjusted. I also tried to make the image size similar too.

Hierarchy puts forth the idea that when there are various images, the most important images containing an important message should stand out (Adobe, 2020).

i used black and green colours in tittle to emparize the topic healthier

Repetition refers to repeating colours, fonts, and shapes to make the format more visually appealing (Adobe, 2020).

i used green colour for the tittle and topics also give the green colour numbers to let readers follow easily

Proximity refers to the grouping of related components to benefit the structure and organization of the design (Adobe, 2020).

i put some words right side and left side by giving sequences.

Negative space is purposefully leaving blank space within the design to assist in emphasizing the most important information (Adobe, 2020).

I tried to use just words not a sentence to keep empty space.
